The Jethro Tull Pages

Last updated May 4th, 2001

Welcome to my set of web pages devoted to Jethro Tull. I've been a fan of rock and roll music for almost 35 years now, and Jethro Tull is likely my favourite band of all time. I have to admit that there are some other artists that I'm fond of as well. Notable among these are Mike Oldfield, Kate Bush, Clannad, 10cc, the Alan Parsons Project, Rick Wakeman, Renaissance, and Andreas Vollenweider. However, none of the music that I've listened to over the years has inspired me to the extent that the music of Tull has.

There are plenty of Jethro Tull websites out there... So what does this site offer to the fan of Jethro Tull? Well, for starters, it offers my own personal perspective of the band over the years - and believe me, with a band that has over thirty (30!!) years of music behind it, that's a lot of perspective. You'll find information about the band and various other aspects about the band, but nothing official (since there are plenty of sources of material available about the official stuff). I've decided to provide folks with a comprehensive Tull discography on this site. Sure, you can get that in all sorts of other places, but it's something that I like having around, and gives me some perspective on the history and music of the band. I'm sure that folks who come to the site will appreciate this. You'll find reviews of the various Tull albums on these pages, divided up into a sort of "Jethro Tull timeline," something that makes sense (at least to me) given the sheer amount of time the band has been playing together. In addition, I've recently begun to collect Tull bootleg tapes and CDs (primarily the latter), and have decided to put up a couple of pages pertaining to the Tull bootlegs out there. I've also chosen to provide some reviews of the Tull bootlegs that I actually have, so that set of pages may or may not grow with time.

As mentioned before, there are a lot of Jethro Tull websites out there. Each of the sites that I'm fond of contributes something interesting and unique about Jethro Tull to the internet community at large. For a selection of my favourite Jethro Tull websites, check out the link below.

And last, but not least, you'll find that I'm conducting a Jethro Tull Fan Poll that attempts to get to the heart of people's tastes when it comes to the music of the band. Please participate in the poll, if you can see your way to doing so, and let me know what you think about the band and its music.
